Open Letter To NXEA Regarding NCP

Below is the text of a complaint from a Manningtree passenger regarding the ongoing mis-managment of the station car park by NCP. It is reproduced here because it brilliantly sums up the feelings of the vast majority of car park users:

"I would just like to put in a formal complaint about the mis-management of the car park and surrounding road and pavements at Manningtree station. Not one person has even attempted to lay any grit/salt and now the car park, road and pavement is like an ice rink. You are very quick to increase the charges for use and are there in a second to issue a penalty ticket but when we have snow/ice there is nobody to be seen. I think it is absolutely disgraceful at the way NCP have ignored the situation there and I am surprised that somebody has not seriously injured themselves.

I would be very interested to know more about your health & safety policy for the maintenance of your car parks.

I look forward to hearing from you."

  1. I can only concur with the comments regarding the ice rink outside the station. I was confident enough in the main roads to ride my motobike to the station but once committed to the private road up to the station it was a death trap. Despite going at zero miles an hour with both feet down the bike slid away from me. I am also aware of others who have fallen and injured themselves. Thankyou to the two members of public who helped me up. I didnt grab your details to say thanks properly so please let me know if you. I would be interested to hear of any others who had a fall- disgraceful and no one took responsibility to grit the surface although predicted and left for days. Des
