Passengers Dissatisfied With Train Punctuality And Value For Money

The number of passengers in the UK satisfied with train punctuality and reliability has gone down with National Express East Anglia (NXEA) second from bottom out of all UK train companies.  Satisfaction overall has dropped from 82% to 80% with NXEA scoring 78%. Hull Trains came top with an overall satisfaction level of 95%.

The survey was carried out by Passenger Focus and involved more than 32,000 passengers across the country.

Cruise Ships At Harwich

The Manningtree Rail Users Association has asked NXEA to review the way it deals with Cruise Ships at Harwich International.  Significant overcrowding and apparent lack of organisation is causing chaos for visitors using the trains.  This coupled with the ongoing issue around the poor state of the trains generally which do not give a good impression to foreign visitors to our region.

Off Peak Ticket Dispensation For Harwich Line Passengers

Hidden in the small print of the ticketing regulations there is an arrangement in place for Harwich Line passengers that is apparently unique in the UK.  Those passengers travelling on the 08:28 ex Harwich service are allowed to catch the 08:53 ex Manningtree connection with an off-peak ticket.  (Note: This arrangement does not apply to Manningtree passengers).

Unfortunately not all NXEA staff are aware of this and some passengers have been thrown off the train at Chelmsford for having the wrong ticket!  Has this happened to you?
